Fifth graders from all six public elementary schools as well as Carson Montessori and Saint Teresa’s will perform as a unified holiday choir for the 30th annual Silver and Snowflake Festival of Lights on the Capitol steps in downtown Carson City Friday, Nov. 30, at 5:30 p.m. The students have been practicing the musical arrangements since the end of October.
Tentative Schedule of Events:
- 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. – Free Sleigh Rides by the Lake Tahoe-based Borges Sleigh Rides and their team of draft horses courtesy of Carson City Redevelopment.
- 5:30 p.m. – Silver & Snowflakes Annual Tree Lighting ceremony featuring Carson City Fifth Grade Music Students Singing Ensemble.
- 6:00 p.m. – State Tree Lighting; all of Carson Street is lighted.
- 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. – Sierra Lutheran High School Choir and Carson High Chamber Choir caroling in the downtown restaurants.
- 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. – on the Patio at Alatte at the Carson Nugget: Photos with Santa (please bring your own camera), free hot cocoa (while supplies last) from the Carson Nugget and free cookies (while supplies last) from the Downtown Business Association.
