Middle school wrestlers from northern Nevada gathered at Pershing County High School in Lovelock Saturday, March 25, for the 2023 Tah-Nevada Middle School Wrestling Championship Tournament. In total, there were 261 wrestlers representing 17 schools, from White Pine County to Truckee, Calif. Carson Middle School and Eagle Valley Middle School sent 10 and 14 wrestlers respectively, representing Carson City Schools.
Described as high adrenaline chaos, the tournament was the culmination of the hard work and discipline by the student athletes from both schools to bring great pride to the Carson City region. Together Carson City schools had seven (7) wrestlers make the finals with one rising as Tah-Neva Champion. Five (5) additional wrestlers medaled for third place, rounding out an impressive showing and promise for the future of wrestling in Carson City.
