In conjunction with the quarterly Community PLC (Professional Learning Community) event, the Carson City School District, in partnership with Western Nevada College, will host a Regional Career Pathways Advisory Meeting Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 6-8 p.m., in Senator Square at Carson High School, 1111 N. Saliman Road.
Please join the district for an interactive discussion about career pathways, the educational opportunities that take students from high school to college and into living-wage career opportunities.
As a group, they will examine existing and potential programs, their alignment with employer needs and where gaps may exist. They will also explore ideas and opportunities to strengthen the pathway and pipeline to high-demand careers that contribute to economic stability and resilience.
Outside of this special meeting, the purpose of these quarterly meetings with school officials is to accumulate feedback from community members on how the school district’s updated strategic plan is performing and suggest ideas and systems to better help meet the goals, objectives and strategies of the district’s plan.
Individuals planning on attending are welcome to share this invitation with colleagues, friends and neighbors who might be interested in attending this meeting and/or joining the group. Community members may park along the curb in front of Carson High School and enter the building at the south entrance near the flagpole.
