The Carson City Schools Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce the election of Mr. Jon Hager as the new president. Hager will govern and lead the affairs of the nonprofit organization, which funds programs and projects in the Carson City School District that are not typically covered by the traditional education budget.

The Carson City School District reminds the community that all school offices within the district, with the exception of Carson High School, will be closed from June 17 to August 5. The Carson High School office will be open to help you from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The Rise 8 Basketball Academy scored a few additional points at Carson Middle School when youth teams gathered for a community service project to clean the outdoor courts and common areas. The project not only aimed to improve the physical condition of the school's facilities but also served as an opportunity for the players to develop a deeper sense of community responsibility and pride.

Engineering, Welding Students Create Metal Art for Chamber Leadership Project

Engineering and welding students from Carson High School (CHS) collaborated with the Carson City Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership class to design and create metal artwork for the Leadership Class’s effort to renew and Mills Park Amphitheater and Memorial. The students took hand-drawn sketches to derive the original art form, the Carson City Golden Eagle and the Nevada Bluebird.

Pioneer students Highlighted at J4NG Career Development Conference

Pioneer Academy’s Jobs for Nevada’s Graduates (J4NG) teacher Mrs. Laura Gardner took two students to participate with more than 160 other students from across the state of Nevada in the conference in Las Vegas. Senior Brooklynn Case competed in Employability Skills and placed 11 overall. Sophomore Blayne Vader competed in the Entrepreneurship skills and placed 10 overall.

The Carson City Library’s Pedal Library will be busy delivering books to students attending summer school. Now through the end of June, the teardrop trailer pulled behind a bike will provide up to 60 pounds of books at each elementary school within the Carson City School District. The mobile library will be offering mobile wifi and charging station soon.
